May 2017…Back to Backs & a 400

Biggest month so far this year, which is good as it means things are going in the right direction and hopefully I will be ready for the Celtic Knot on the weekend of 23-25 June (ps as my blog is running behind the Celtic Knot was completed successfully- report and reactions to follow).

LEL is still the main focus with the Irish ride being used as a training ride. May was full of notable rides starting with The Algarve holiday and climbing of Mount Foia(902m). This was followed by three big weekends in a row (2x200KM’s, 400KM, 2x100MILERS) with a fourth to follow in the first weekend of June(keep tuned…back to back 200 milers).

May’s cycling figures: 2015 km, 92 hours pedalling, 6 days over 100 km, 2 over 200 km and one 400 km. Link to Training LogMay Training Calendar and routes ridden.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind all readers that these cycling challenges are also about raising money and awareness for some great local, regional and national charities: Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, East Anglia Air Ambulance, Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund. More information is available on the Welcome and About pages of this blog. Please give through the PayPal Donate button or be in touch with me if you prefer to transfer direct(no commission taken this way). Other forms of donations eg prizes to give away in a raffle would also be most welcome.
